Happy Thanksgiving from all of us in the Office of Admissions and Scholarships!

Did you know that Mississippi State is leading an initiative that researches how fish can provide stable food supplies in developing countries? It’s called the Feed the Future Innovation Lab on Fish, an initiative of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). MSU leads four other universities in this effort to reduce poverty and improve health outcomes for global populations dependent on aquaculture-led economies.
During this Thanksgiving season, we are mindful that not everyone has access to the food we may take for granted, and we want to do our part in making that access a little easier. Our President, Dr. Mark Keenum, has made global food security a university research priority. Student-led teams are also researching ways to increase crop production as well as studying ways to provide new water sources in developing countries.
