What do I need to get accepted to DSU?
Our bachelor’s programs are academically challenging, and our selection process is equally rigorous. If you meet these requirements, we’d love for you to join us at DSU!
First, new freshmen, who are under 24 and graduated from high school, must meet oneof these three requirements (Please see the transfer requirements, if you a student transferring from another college or university):
- An ACT score composite score of 18 or above, or get a subscore on the SAT Reasoning Test Math and Critical Reading of 950 or above
- Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.6 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Rank in the upper 60% of your high school graduating class
If you do not meet the above requirements, you may qualify for admission on probation.
Second, you must also have completed the following courses with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale:
English
You must have one of the following:

- 4 years of English
- ACT English sub-test score of 18 or above
- AP English score of 3 or above
Advanced mathematics
You must have one of the following:

- 3 years of advanced mathematics
- ACT Math sub-test score of 20 or above

Laboratory science
You must have one of the following:

Social science

Computer science
We expect that students looking to be admitted to DSU will have basic keyboarding skills and experience in using computer word processing and database and spreadsheet programs. We also expect you to have experience in using the Internet or other wide area network. These expectations may be met by high school coursework.

If you meet the admission requirements, but don't meet the course requirements listed above, you can be admitted to an associate degree program. Once you complete the associate program, you may apply for admission into a bachelor's program.

General graduate admissions requirements.
Are you a good fit for our graduate programs? We’re looking for smart, motivated people who meet the following requirements:
Baccalaureate degree
You must have a bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher learning with full regional accreditation for that degree.
GRE scores
Some programs may have different requirements as it pertains to the GRE. You should also refer to the specific program for additional information.
Either GRE or GMAT scores may be accepted for the MBA program.
You must have received satisfactory scores on your GRE, and have taken it within the last five years.
The test can be waived if one of the following conditions is met:
- A cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale for a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S.
- Official admission into and demonstrated success in a regionally accredited graduate program in the U.S. Demonstrated success is defined as grades of A or B in at least 9 hours of graduate work.
- Graduation from a regionally accredited college/university in the U.S. at least 15 years ago or more.
