Fall 2021 Transfer Scholarships

 Scholarships are awarded based upon application for admission. Scholarship criteria are subject to change. Scholarships are evaluated each June, at which time criteria and values are confirmed for students who will begin applying in August.

Transfer Merit Scholarship 
This merit scholarship is designated for outstanding Indiana students transferring to the University or students from a reciprocity county in Kentucky, students transferring from the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) system or Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) or students who qualify for the Continue the Tradition Award.

Value: $1,500 per academic year

Number available: Varies. Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. Qualified applicants automatically receive the Transfer Merit Scholarship based upon their admission to USI.  For this reason, students are encouraged to apply as soon as you as possible upon identifying the University 

Selection criteria: Eligible students must have a minimum of 24 transferable credit hours with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. \

Out-of-State Transfer Top Scholar Award 
This scholarship is designated for outstanding transfer students residing outside the state of Indiana who initially matriculate to USI in fall 2021 and beyond.  The University pays the difference between non-resident and resident tuition.  

Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply early.

To be eligible, non-resident transfer students must:

  • Complete at least 24 transferable credit hours
  • Have a cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.25 or higher.

Out-of-State Transfer Grant
This scholarship is designated for strong transfer students residing outside the state of Indiana who initially matriculate to USI in fall 2021 and beyond.

The grant provides a tuition discount of $9,000 for out-of-state students. Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply early.

To be eligible, non-resident transfer students must:

  • Complete at least 24 transferable credit hours
  • Have a cumulative transfer grade point average between 2.75 to 3.24.
